seems there are some in Salisbury NC that think the statue of the angel & soldier should be removed. This statue has been there for 106 yrs. Because of the current circumstances occuring in our nation, some feel that it is best for it to be removed. I am asking for as many as they can to support keeping this statue in it's rightful place! Thanks in advance!
The momentum behind protecting our statue is growing because you are refusing to stay quiet. Use this surge of energy to call your city council members today and insist that they leave the monument exactly where it stands.

I am working to get our petition materials in front of the local council members this week. Please call the city office today and tell them the statue stays where it is. Keep pushing and do not let up on social media.

The statue has come to represent so much more from the wonderful history of Salisbury and Rowan County to recognizing all who serve. Removing history doesn't change the past; but only covers up and "white washes" what should never be forgotten.

I don't understand how any civil thinking human being would want to remove such a beautiful statue! All I have ever seen in that statue is an angel carrying a soldier. Every time I see the statue it reminds me of how God protects all of His children!

They need to leave this statue alone!!!! It honors all soldiers, not just the confederate soldiers!!!! There is nothing offensive about honoring all soldiers that have fought in numerous wars defending our country and our freedom!!!!

It is a part of our history as a community. If you take this down you might as well pull the head stones out of the ground at the Salisbury National cemetery because. It would be the same. It represents a war that took place here. No one can change that fact.

I grew up in Salisbury and we have always been a Historical town. This Statue is a part of what makes our town beautiful. I am 53 and never known anyone who said they were offended by it. Life is about history. Without it there would be no today.

Keep it. That statue has been there for over 100 years and people are just now saying it's racist ? That makes no sense... How is a statue of an angel and a soldier racist? There is no reason to move something that represents a piece of history. .
