Have ideas on how to enhance the statue to protect and preserve her. If you know of others looking to add to the design, please give them my name and email. Sincerely, the former Annabelle Bailey, former resident of Salisbury and graduate of the University of NC School of the Arts

I grew up in Salisbury and have loved this statue since I was a child. It is part of our history. It has nothing to do with race. We owe it to our veterans to protect & keep it!

The statue is in no way racist. The majority of confederate soldiers were too poor to own slaves - they were fighting for the Confederacy, not to keep slavery

This monument has been here since I was born. It has not hurt anyone! It is an angel embracing a soldier, not a statue of hatred or racism! Please leave it! It is a historic statue! Thank You!

As of tomorrow I will have live here for 43 years, and this statue is a beautiful reminder of hoe God has always has Angels ready to carry our men and women, black or white to the promised land. If they decide it comes down I this our city commissioner's will have a sayin it. Comes down to how many prove can we chain to it to keep it from being removed?? If we don't start maki,g a stand they will take down everything we have in our history. Not one bit of HATE, VIOLENCE, OR HATEFUL WORDS NEED TO BE SPOKEN. WE CAN JUST SHOW UP AND STAND FOR WHAT WE BELIEVE!!! Amen!!

The statue has come to represent so much more from the wonderful history of Salisbury and Rowan County to recognizing all who serve. Removing history doesn't change the past; but only covers up and "white washes" what should never be forgotten.
