Help keep Hinton's Confederate Monument Safe. By signing this petition YOU agree that it should stay where it is and to not be destroyed or taken down. With all the protests and riots about racism, ALL AMERICANS are being attacked. HELP HONOR OUR HISTORY by keeping the MONUMENT where it stands. NOT because of HATE but, because of AMERICAN HISTORY and HERITAGE.
The opposition is pushing harder than ever to remove what stands in our square. Contact your local city representatives today to tell them we will not accept the erasure of our local heritage.

This is a landmark not a political pawn. Leave it be for generations to come. Most that would have it taken down and are offended by it .. I would say they aren't offended at all. I bet they have never even read what it says. Don't let a (few ) dictate what is best for the majority.

If the federal government decreed that all Confederate veterans are US VETERANS why are you messing with US VETERANS monuments?

Three Confederate grandfathers buried in Summers County and non-slave owners. To me the statue simply honors soldiers not slavery

Preserve the history of WV's divided support of both the Union and the Confederacy. This is purely an historical monument to remember the Civil War.

The confederacy is part of our history and people should learn about it. Unfortunately there are groups of people who have a political agenda and want to erase and rewrite American history.
