Despite their historical value and their importance to many members of society, multiple states are removing monuments and statues that are perceived as associated with the former Confederate States of America. The Confederate States was formed just before the beginning of the American Civil War -- which took place over 150 years ago. Deciding now to remove statues and monuments due to their being "offensive" is nothing short of ludicrous. As they're removed, we're losing vital parts of history, not to mention Southern Pride. I know that they should be preserved to teach future generations, and to be appreciated by the people who understand what was the Southern Cause.

I hope that this petition will gain signatures, which may be able to convince politicians to reconsider their actions. I know that to many people, these memorials are important, whether you agree with the Confederacy's reasoning or not. Historians, Rebels, and everyone else who cares - let's team up by signing and make this happen!

These anarchists are no better than the Taliban.. hiding history is no better than denying history. Save our history, and learn from it. But always learn of it in the context of its time.

Thank you for standing up for our history in its entirety, so that future generations will know the whole truth of our country, good and bad.

Should we tear down every statue, uproot all cemeteries where Civil War soldiers are buried, and demolish all buildings named for someone that even one person is offended by? Everyone read Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four.

We need to preserve our history. If they knew the real truth of the Civil War. Slavery was on its way out and was not the reason for the Union to invade the south. It was all about economics and trade. Reveal the Truth!!

The Confederate monuments are a source of pride of my ancestors who fought in the War of Northern Aggression...they weren't fighting for slavery...they were fighting for our freedom.

It is history represented, not hate. I have 3 known kin that was confederate soldiers, 2 fathers side, 1 mothers side. Leave them to honor the dead and let it rest.

I am proud of my Texas/Southern/Confederate heritage and want it preserved and protected. I am sick to death of caving in to the liberal/left-wingers and thier BLM allies every time they whine that they are "offended" about some silly, trivial item. It's far past time to Take A Stand and tell them "NO MORE!" surrender or retreat by our Southern forces. Victory or Death with honor!

Confederate soldiers are still American veterans and all memorials should be preserved.
