This statue represents the freedom and emancipation of the slaves. A petition to take it down has already gathered over 5,000 signatures, and we want more to show that stopping censorship and addressing history are vital to the long tradition of Boston.
Tory Bullock wrongly attests that Lincoln is showing dominance over a black slave. Quite the contrary. The message of the statue shows where a slave was (on his knees) and where he’s going (standing alongside Lincoln). It represents the tyranny of what slavery is all about and encourages the progress that we must continue to move forward. To take it down would be a shame to Boston’s devotion to the cause of freedom.

I really never expected this to snowball like it has but seeing everyone jump in to protect our history is honestly wild. It feels like people are finally waking up to the idea that erasing symbols is not the same thing as fixing the actual problems we face. Kind of overwhelmed right now but honestly this just proves so many of us want to keep the conversation honest instead of just hiding it all away.

defend the statues that represent our history, good or bad, the latter to remind us where we never want to go again.
Maybe the people who want to destroy history should read Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation. Seems that removing American History from the Primary education years in US schools has caused a void in understanding among the younger generations.
Disregard the anarchists!
Our history is not perfect but this is an exceptional country that has done so much good over the centuries.
If the USA is to fall it will not be because of any statue taken down. It will fall because the righteous have not gotten up from their knees (prayer/1A) and started fighting back (2A).
Leave these statues alone.
