We, the undersigned, OPPOSE Bill 18-153, Ordinance Number 3326, "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SCHEDULE THREE OF TITLE THREE OF THE ST. ROBERT CITY CODE (PARKING PROIDBITED AT ALL TIMES ON CERTAIN STREETS) "

The Woodridge Subdivision affected streets: Ridgeview DR, Cedar CT, Oak CT, Walnut CT, Ash CT, Sycamore DR and Locust CT.

  • Originally, our "No Parking" laws were specific for inclement weather as specified by city code: (www.ecode360.com/28628904 [Ord. No. 392 §1, 7-18-1994; Ord. No. 2328 §2, 9-7-2010])
  • Woodridge Subdivision has seldom had any parking violation issues in the past. The majority of neighbors have not violated the "No Parking at Any Time".
  • However, due to excessive calls to SRPD regarding parked vehicles on the street, the city decided to address this issue with no notification to the entire Woodridge subdivision.
  • On December 18, 2018, the alderman and mayor passed a bill that affects the residents of Woodridge subdivision and their guests parking on Ridgeview, Cedar, Oak, Walnut, Ash, Sycamore, and Locust.
  • It is our understanding the city enforcement will include ticketing and possible towing of your (or your guest's) vehicle.

A few neighbors have gathered to physically represent the majority voice of Woodridge Subdivision and intend to attend the City Council meeting on February 5, 2019 at 5pm at Saint Robert Municipal Bldg to request that the bill be dropped and return to Inclement Weather rules, or offer an alternative solution to prevent enforcement from occurring.

This is ridiculous. We pay enough in taxes without the city coming after us for having friends over for dinner. Our streets are plenty wide enough to handle a few cars.

TOTAL OVERREACH. Nobody even asked us about this before they pushed it through. My family shouldn't have to worry about getting towed just for parking in front of our own house.
