Developer Maison Belle, LLC (John Mason) is planning a 42’ x 100’ parking lot at the end of a proposed extension to Hadley Road.* Accessed via a 150’ curved driveway, the parking lot is in a secluded location that would not be visible from the road. As residents of Hampstead, we oppose the plan on the basis of safety concerns. A secluded parking lot off a quiet, dead end road is difficult to monitor and can invite illegal activity into a residential neighborhood.
We, the undersigned are concerned residents who urge our leaders to reject the plans to construct a parking lot in this location.
*The parking lot would be on town owned land (Map 16 Lot 26) as part of the proposed subdivision plans of two lots on the extension of Hadley Road (Lot 1 and Lot 25).
The woods and trails in that area are beautiful and are used by hikers, bikers, xc skiers, snow shoers, bird watchers, runners and dog walkers. It would be nice to have a safe place to park to use the trails. "inviting illeagle activity" is a silly excuse to oppose the parking lot.
