We, the undersigned residents of Grayson Place (between Prince Street and Teaneck Road), respectfully petition the Township of Teaneck to implement a Resident-Only Parking Permit Program for our block.

Purpose of the Petition:

We are requesting this permit program in direct response to increasingly restrictive parking regulations on our block—specifically designed to discourage all-day commuter parking near the Grayson Place bus stop. While the intention of these regulations is understood, the impact on actual residents has been severe and unintended.

Residents now face a situation where legal daytime parking is virtually unavailable, even to those who live on the street. The current signage—which limits parking from 8 am - 4 pm on one side, and 10 am - 12 pm on the other side—has made it difficult, if not impossible, for residents to park legally during much of the day.

Key Concerns:

• Severely Limited Parking Access for Residents: Restrictions meant to deter commuters have made daytime parking nearly impossible for those who live on Grayson Place.
• Quality of Life and Inconvenience: Residents, including seniors, families with children, and those working from home, are unfairly burdened by the current system.

Request:

We respectfully request the establishment of a Resident-Only Parking Program on Grayson Place (between Prince Street and Teaneck Road), which would:

• Require a resident permit to park during designated hours (to be determined collaboratively with the Township).
• Help relieve the burden placed on residents by the current restrictive parking signage.
• Include provisions for guest/visitor passes and enforcement mechanisms.
• Preserve reasonable access for emergency services, sanitation, and public transportation needs.

This solution would ensure that the original goal of reducing commuter congestion is maintained—without punishing the residents who live on this street.
