Essex County Council dropped the original plan but they are already plotting new ways to ruin our road. We are digging into the details of these revised proposals to ensure they do not try to sneak bad infrastructure past us again.

This is not a sensible proposal - a sledgehammer to crack a nut - and a dedicated bus lane will increase problems and delays. One key issue, though, is to solve th signifcant delays and danger caused by parking in the area outside the Lexden Crown.

It is the Council's responsibility to mitigate risk not increase risk to pedestrians (especially children). Behavioural patterns of pedestrianns in Crouch Street show how cycle lanes on pavements are treated and that is only on a short stretch!

You have just put in cycle lanes on the lexden road now you want to put cyclists on the pavement . why not put double yellow lines at the top end of lexden road instead to stop the chaos there which is caused by the narrowing of the road at busy times

Both my children attend Lexden schools and I share the concern that narrowing the pavements creates greater risk for those attending local schools, a risk not justified by what is likely to be marginal or no gain in bus access or journey times.

This is not needed as traffic flows freely except for 30 minutes on Monday to Friday during school term time. i.e 180 x 0.5 hours = 90 hours in a year. A waste of our money which could be better spent on more major traffic issues in Colchester.

I live on Lexden Road and my daughter goes to school on Lexden Road. This is ill thought out and will make the children waiting at the bus stops vulnerable to speeding traffic. The fact that the traffic is slow during the school run is not a bad thing!

100% in favour. We live on Beverley Road and the speeds of many cars is far too fast particularly when it is so close to the grammar school and many children are being picked up and dropped off. Lexden Road is 30mph and this should be extended to Beverley Road and Creffield Road
