I just heard the news that Pat is coming back to teach next year. This happened because you refused to stay quiet and I am truly humbled by what you accomplished together.

The St. Thomas More Catholic School Administration has terminated Pat. Killian's employment at STM by not renewing her contract for the 2015-2016 School Year as a middle school teacher of Social Studies. We as the major shareholders and customers (parents, students, alumni and parishioners) of the school/church of the St. Thomas More Community call for Pat Killian's contract to be renewed for the 2015 -2016 school year. As the major shareholders, we feel that Pat Killian is an excellent teacher. She has always taught the required curriculum and cared for her students, parents, and the entire school community. She has worked hard for many years at STM School and has left a meaningful, lasting impression on the hearts and minds of countless STM graduates. We are aware it is the role of school administration to make staffing decisions, but feel they are acting in a systematic way to reduce tenured staff and are overlooking the collaborative trust and input of stakeholders. By signing this petition, you call for Father Scott McCue, Dr. Michael Ashton and Kathy Sullivan, to extend a contract to Pat Killian for the 2015-2016 year. The deadline for signing this petition is Friday, May 15th.

My children contribute their success in AP World History and AP US History to Mrs. Killian's passion, love, and devotion to building a strong foundation in their middle school years. Jim often states she developed him into an analytical thinker. Pat Killian would be a tremendous loss.
Mrs Killian taught my daughter to got out and explore. Nothing was out of her reach. She is headed to NYU in Global studies and will spend a year of her college career helping others. I am thankful Mrs Killian is at St Thomas More, not only for my daughters but others as well.
Ms. Killian (along with Ms. Kingrea) was a lifesaver to my daughter during her difficult middle school years. I don't know how she would have made it through without Ms. Killian. Ms. K is now my son's favorite teacher. If STM loses her, they will be letting go of 1 of the top 2.
When I think back to my kids' time at STM middle school, Mrs. Killian's class was a high point. Her project-based "hands on" instruction taught entrepreneurship and teamwork in a unique way. Students learned to appreciate other cultures and found her class interesting and memorable.
Pat Killian is an independent thinker, a free spirit and a gifted teacher. She allows the students to learn in a perhaps less traditional and less linear fashion - I think she adds balance to the whole staff. All have strengths and weaknesses and are better as a whole.
Mrs Killian is a fabulous teacher and she supports many enriching activities for the school especially the Asian Fair. I was so looking forward to having her as my teacher in the seventh grade!

Mrs killian is the best teacher I have ever had! The school is making a huge mistake by letting her go! Stm won't be the same without her educational and creative projects like Asian market and middle eastern night. She needs to stay!
