Mrs Killian is a fabulous teacher and she supports many enriching activities for the school especially the Asian Fair. I was so looking forward to having her as my teacher in the seventh grade!

Both of our children were lucky to have Mrs. Killian as one of their teachers at STM. She is a very creative, kind and encouraging teacher. It is extremely disappointing to learn that the school does not support her after all the years she has supported the school. Mrs. Killian is a treasure at STM, and this decision should be reconsidered.

My favorite teacher!!!
I attended STM from pre-K through 8th grade, and I love and cherrish my Catholic education. Pat Killian's love for education and care for students made her classes the most memorable and valuable classes of my education. Her passion for teaching embodies all that is good about Catholic education, and her creativity in the classroom is St Thomas More School's most valuable resource.

I have a daughter currently in high school and doing so well. My gratitude to the tenured teachers that has systematically been shown the door. This is so sad to see the quality of education decline so fast in the last few years. So sad because I have a child in Middle School. I do not see the logic anymore in sacrificing to pay tuition if this beloved school can not offer us anything more than other schools. Mrs. Killian is one of our beloved tenured teachers that has shown so much commitment to our kids. She is a very unique teacher - her teaching style you can not find anywhere else. She has developed hands on learning with the multiple projects the kids are happily engaged in. Learning about working with a team. They learn so much without knowing that they are learning because they are having fun. She has unorthodox style which is very effective. She makes great memories for the kids and these are the stories you hear about on the dinner table for years to come.
Please retain her for the sake of the school. Make it your primary goal to retain teachers that make STM stand out and not because of economic or financial reasons. These are the portals of the school that bring families into the school. Word of mouth is very effective and when they see the kids that shine in their communities are from STM, they will want to be a part of it. God bless us all as we make decisions for our kids and our community!

We have had our two boys and currently have our daughter being taught by Mrs. Killian. Both boys went onto Chapel Hill High. One is currently in college and both boys did exceptional well in their history classes at CHHS and now in college. Both credited Pat Killian for their history knowledge. My daughter loves her class and her as a teacher. She is truly the light of her day. Pat, truly holds up the Christian beliefs and the golden rule. She is the one that has her class clean up the pews after ever school Mass. Not because she has to, but because she is a good community citizen. She shows her students by her actions, not just by her words. She engages her students and makes them think about what they are going to do. She provides both sides of the story. She provides education on other faiths and cultures so that her students can be understanding and compassionate towards others, even if their views are not the same. She is not a hypocrite and she won't allow others to make her termination as some fake retirement and story, that has been used on other faculty members forced out. If this petition doesn't tell the Administration that this is not a small group of crazy parents, but that it is the voices of the shareholders that make the school what it is today and what is has been. Listen to the people, listen to those who pay the bills, listen to those that use these services, listen to those that have walked through these doors in the past, listen to past faculty members. Please just stop and listen. The Administration would not look weak if they reversed their decision, rather like heroes. We are Christians and we all make mistakes and that makes us look even better to all, to be able to admit that a mistake was made is truly human, to forgive is divine. Do not stand on some power issue and feel the authority has been undermined by this and to be angry by it. Listen to our Holy Father, love each other, show peace to each other, and love those

After being castigated by the STM Administration earlier this year for falling victim to 'mob mentality' where issues of curriculum schedule, behavior and academic rigor at STM are concerned, it is amazing to behold the great outpouring of love and requests to keep Pat Killian at STM. Mrs. Killian needs to stay where serves STM Students, Staff, Administration and Parrish best - Employed at St. Thomas More Catholic School for the foreseeable future.
Mrs. Killian, as is evidenced by comments from Parents, current and former students, and colleagues, plays a vital role in the lives of STM Students and staff as both educator and mentor. Stop by her class during the day and you see real work taking place in the form of task based learning in groups, tangential conversations about history, current events and the places our students will fill in the world solving future issues while becoming the beacons of faith. Stop by Mrs. Killian's classroom after school and you'll find her presiding over 'middle school' conversations by and with students who stay extra after school to be in her orbit. Mrs. Killian creates an atmosphere of mutual respect where students learn by doing, by listening and by working together. Without Mrs. Killian, STM is wholly diminished. Please keep Pat Killian at STM!

Mrs. Killian taught one of the most fun, interactive, and culturally enlightening classes I have ever taken...and it was for 7th graders. She is an asset to the STM community and letting her go would be a mistake.

Ms. Killian was one of my very favorite schools in middle school. The school does itself a disservice to its reputation if they were to fire her.

As of late I am seeing the schools Orange County seemingly do away with some of its greatest teachers, most of which are tenures. I find it shameful that it's those who built these schools and brought them to their educational acclaime are the ones being tossed to the side like candy wrappers. It's shameful and honestly unfair to not only to the teachers themselves, who have given their all to this system, but to the students who deserves teachers that genuinely and undisputedly teach their hearts out to better our youth. I think the tables need to turn and we need to look at the higher ups in the schools and rid of their wastefulness as I do not see what sort of benefit they are doing by deminishing what's arguably their greatest resources, It's tenured teachers.

Mrs. Killians class, especially the world market simulation, was one of the most impactful experiences I had during my time at STM. It would be a huge mistake to let her go.

I think we can all agree all of these signatures mean something ,that mrs.Killian deserves to stay! she is an excellent teacher and frankly there are very few mrs.Killians in the work. She is excellent you will never find a teacher who opens students minds the way mrs.Killian does. You are making a huge mistake and you will regret it and I'm sure many families will leave so do yourself a favor and keep her!!
