The administration is still stonewalling our request for basic choice in our graduation attire. They want to force a stale tradition on us while ignoring what the student body actually wants. I have been reaching out to the board members directly and I will not stop until they drop this outdated policy.

The administrators obviosly do not want to be bothered with two colors so they may throw out the inclusive card. The LGBT community deals with enough intolerance, do not use them as a scapegoat for your decision to make your job easier. Give everyone a choice.
I'm a '73 alum and think the tradition of purple and white gowns should continue. Let the students choose which color they want to wear. This would help alleviate gender issues since that seems to be the reason to move away from the two-color scheme. It's only common sense. Let a student choose.
Had two kids graduate from DGN - one went on to Baylor University and the other to The College of William & Mary. Both were class officers and as a family we worked hard to support DGN. You are ripping away too much that is meaningful to your students. Why?
More mandates from the Administration (can't keep a tradition, can't paint handprints on the wall, have to install "tardy machines", etc.) disengages the student body further. Let the kids choose either purple or white and be done with it...
We already purchased pictures through the school that were taken in a white cap and gown, as well as a white dress for graduation. Not sure why this change is necessary. Let the students choose instead of dictating to them.
I go to South, but I even want my friends from North to be able to decide what they wear, it's only fair that everyone gets to choose since they're forced to be at school anyway
Allow both schools to have a choice! Bring back white and light blue!!

Since this is about academics and not gender, why the change at all? Hasn't graduation always been about academics? What makes it different this year than last year or the years before? Keep tradition and keep the students choice of Purple or White!
