Tradition is tradition, plain and simple. My class graduated with white and red cap and gowns, the classes before me the same, and the classes that come after me should be the same as well. Stop trying to change everything that East Providence stands for
There is no reason to change the long standing tradition of red and white caps and gowns. Townie colors are red and white and have been worn with pride for years. Don't take the school colors away from graduation. Proud graduate of EPHS Class of 1987.
The school colors are red AND WHITE! Why would you only represent 1 color. You'll be killing a part of that townie pride they say "never dies" failing to represent both colors is killing that part of townie pride
I believe that all students who identify as female should be able to continue the tradition of wearing a white cap and gown on graduation day. Students who identify as otherwise should be able to CHOOSE what THEY want without affecting the rest of the class.
As a freshman, there were many things i was excited to do as a senior, walking across the stage in a white cap and gown was one of them, I also heard we won't be able to decorate our caps anymore which, if it is true, is ridiculously unfair, i watched all the seniors before me have fun decorating their caps and now i cant have my own fun doing so?
Let's not ruin tradition... This has been the way for ever......
Please keep the tradition. It looks amazing to see red and white. It's so upsetting the things change in education in this city. I taught for 35 years and it's discouraging to see the waste of money for programs and tests. Look how we got on board for parcc testing and three years later it's gone. What's wrong with tried and true tests. Too many changes. Keep the red and white growns

If the tradition is going to be changed then maybe the students should be informed earlier than 2 months before graduation. Another idea would be to allow transgender individuals to where whatever color the identify with.....or let every student choose for that matter. Signed by parent of a graduating student.
