Petition for both blue and white gowns to be worn for Hamilton High Schools commencement ceremony for the class of 2018. Blue will be worn by those who identify with the male gender and white by those who identify with the female gender. Exceptions can be made if an individual of the opposite gender wishes to wear the opposite color, gender specificity is simply a way to keep it organized. The feedback regarding gown colors has prompted a constructive dialogue among the graduating class. I am currently coordinating with school administrators to discuss how these preference options can be formally integrated into our graduation procedures.

The momentum behind this request for flexibility in our graduation attire continues to grow. It is encouraging to see such a clear consensus regarding the importance of choice for the upcoming ceremony.

I believe that we should have two different color gowns for males and females like other schools . It incorporates both our school colors of blue and white . It's perfect . This is the least you could do, we can't even personalize our caps.
It should be blue for boys and white for girls. Thats how it was when i graduates from hamilton high in 2014. Bring this back hamilton high its what everyone likes best! No one wants to wear the same color!
As the creator of the petition, when I present this to our administration I will stipulate that I want kids to be able to choose based on how they identify or if they prefer the other color. I fully advocate for trans rights and would never want them to feel uncomfortable. If the school refuses to do so then I will will revoke the petition.
You are utterly ridiculous. White gets dirty, white is disgusting. Quit being a pest. Blue looks classy. they say that trans people would get to chose but we all know our conservative as heck school will still make them wear their birth sex even if they don't feel comfortable in it, trans kids who aren't out would be awfully uncomfortable. This is horrible

I really liked the old graduation gowns where the boys would wear blue and the girls would wear white abd I think this is a great compromise. I don't understand why they had to change them. They looked ugly this year. I think we should go back to the original colors for class of 18 and 19.
