THIS IS A CHARLTON MASSACHSETTS CITIZENS PETITION TO OPPOSE SUNSET CITY’S SITE PLAN APPLICATION TO CONSTRUCT A PROPOSED CAMPGROUND AND MOTOCROSS PARK WITH ACCOMPANYING DRIVEWAY ACCESS, PARKING LOT AND STORMWATER MANAGEMENT INFRASTRUCTURE PER THE DECEMBER 19, 2014 NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING BY THE CHARLTON PLANNING BOARD WHEREAS APPROVAL AND PERMITTING OF SAID CAMPGROUND AND MOTOCROSS PARK SITE PLAN APPLICATION POSES A SERIOUS RISK TO RESIDENTS’ QUALITY OF LIFE DUE TO NOISE, TRAFFIC, AND PUBLIC SAFETY ON ACCESS AND CONTIGUOUS ROADS.

IN ADDITION, IT WILL DEGRADE BOTH THE RURAL CHARACTER OF CHARLTON AND ITS MOST RURAL RESIDENTIAL AGRICULTURAL ZONE (A) BY DESTROYING FOREST AND WETLANDS IN ORDER TO REPLACE THIS WITH A COMMERCIAL MOTORSPORTS/MOTOCROSS PARK.

I have been spending my evenings walking the perimeter of these woods and thinking about the noise that will ruin this quiet landscape. We are preparing our formal testimony for the planning board because our home and our rural way of life are worth fighting for.

Seeing this momentum grow proves how much we all value the quiet character of our town. My home has been in this neighborhood for years and the thought of losing our woods to a motocross track felt impossible to fight alone until now.

There have been so many changes over the last 95 years that my family has lived here. We have never opposed progress, but it is important to know how very disruptive this proposal is to the neighborhood and the tranquillity of this area. An area that has seen enough.

As we all know, noise pollution and other issues will arrive from this operation. But the bottom line is, this is a thickly settled district. the width and location of the road, is not suitable for any type of high traffic business. The residence live in this location for its privacy, and peacefulness.

CLEARLY motorcross real-life case studies have shown to disturb residents in 3 mile radius, not to mention fumes! Agriculturally-zoned land is not for commercial enterprises other than AGRICULTURE. Motorcross will DESTROY this community's right to enjoyment of their properties. Shame on the Zoning Board!

This motocross track will benefit very few local residents (2 miles or less), but will devalue our properties; the benefit will be to the out-of-towners who will make plenty of noise and dust.

This is a big safety concern !! My family lives on that road, that is the most dangerous street now, if you add this on top of the already traffic issues, it puts my family in more danger

I am completely in favor of the soccer fields, hiking trails, and any other non-motorized pursuits that this project proposes in follow-on phases. I am deeply concerned with the noise, traffic, environmental impact, reduction in property value, and other possible outcomes of the motor sports aspects of this project.
