Friends,
We ask you to sign this petition to show your support and urge the BNI of the Ozarks Corporate Leadership Team to allow Dr. Ashley Emel of Compass Chiropractic to join the Mid-Missouri Business Network BNI Chapter.
Just weeks ago, Dr. Emel was a current good-standing member of another chapter with a Giver's Gain mentality. Recently, she applied to our group and was approved to fill the former seat that Dr.Sam Henley grew out of. As the Chiropractor that Dr. Sam trusts and uses, she should have been THE MOST IDEAL MEMBER to be his replacement and be a credible Chiropractor to refer to.
After visiting, meeting our group, passing business, and after being accepted by our internal Membership Committee- the "powers that be" denied her membership transfer.
We've asked why... no clear answer. We've asked for the "appeal process"... and have been told there is none. Every attempt to get information or an understanding of the situation has been met with complication.
It's strange.
In the years of history and experience I have with BNI, we've made the decisions on our members.
We were responsible for our chapter's retention and growth.
We were encouraged to bring people together.
Our group is filled with amazing individuals.
Let's keep it that way.
Let's add Ashley!
We need your help to show that our chapter WANTS/APPROVES of Dr. Emel as the Chiropractor.
Some things you should know about Dr. Ashley Emel of Compass Chiropractic:
1. She's on the Board of Directors for True North of Columbia
2. She's a specialist certified in the Webster technique, unique for women/pregnancy
3. Within the couple of weeks of visiting our chapter she made multiple referrals resulting in more than $50,000 Thank You For Closed Business (TYFCB)
4. Our former Chiropractor uses her and they adjust each other
5. She routinely attended our meetings until instructed to not attend anymore
Please sign our petition and let's keep growing the chapter with amazing people!

I submitted a formal inquiry to the regional director regarding the lack of an appeals process for our membership selection. I am currently waiting for a response to determine our next escalation path.

As an incoming member of our chapter's leadership team, I feel that Dr. Emel would be a valuable member - she has already demonstrated her worth in the number of inside and outside referrals given in just a short time, all done with a great attitude. I believe she should be granted membership.
As a multi-year member of this chapter, a "gold badge" carrier, someone who has done hundreds of 1-2-1's and is a obnoxious cheerleader for our AMAZING BNI chapter I want the BEST people in our group. Ashley is considered one of the BEST in Chiropractic and is the individual who adjusts our former Chiropractor... so I think she should make a great member. We've all met her.... like her... and accepted her into our group. Now, we look silly and foolish for no reason and with no proof of why she shouldn't be allowed to participate as a member of our group.
I hate making new accounts for stuff like this. I already voiced my strong opinion for this situation directly to BNI leaders.
Dr. Ashley has natural connections with our BNI group, and there appears to be a level of trust towards her already. She seems to fit the culture, and there's every reason to believe she would add to the groups profitability.
The Chapter Membership Committee did approve her application. She seemed to be an active and positive addition to our Chapter.
I think she should be granted membership apparently not even corporate can give a reason why she should not be a member
I believe our membership committee has determined that Dr. Emel IS a good fit for our chapter. Understanding our Giver's Gain philosophy, I firmly believe by giving her this opportunity our chapter will gain so much more in return. In part, our BNI mission is to HELP members increase their business enabling them to develop long-term and meaningful relationships with quality business professionals. I believe Dr. Emel to be a quality business professional that is seeking to replace our former chiropractor, who also valued his role in the group and has also developed long-term relationships. Dr. Emel is also engaged in the community, especially serving on the board for True North, which provides emergency and ongoing services to victims of domestic violence or sexual assault. One of her specific disciplines allows for more comfortable, safer, and easier child births. Her noble contributions to our community and work should not be overlooked and firmly believe her reconsideration is warranted. We all want to do business with people we know and trust. I fully trust Dr. Emel I'm looking forward to recommending her and welcome her solidification as a member of our group. As an older member of the first BNI group in Columbia, MO I've seen 100's of people sit in chairs not fully understanding the true benefit of BNI. I believe Dr. Emel understand the benefit and will be a great addition.
