We are the the residents of Parc Apartments and Cold Point Station. We are seeking traffic calming solutions on Plymouth Rd. The main exits leaving our communities onto Plymouth road during peak and non peak hours is very dangerous. The last traffic study conducted was before the completion of the Parc Apartments which would not reflect the current traffic flow. Also, in the Cold Point Station Village there are now retail and restaurants that require patrons to exit frequently.

I have met with both Karen B. Weiss, Plymouth Township Manager and David Conroy, Zoning Officer. They advised me on the steps the residence should take. Ms. Weiss also shared her own experience leaving Bryn & Danes during non-peak hours and agreed that a traffic light needs to be there.

Your signature is important especially if you can not attend the next two meetings. The next Plymouth Township Planning Meeting is June 1, 2016, 7:00pm. They will discuss the future plans of the traffic flow along with plans for a new CVS which will be at the corner of Plymouth Rd and Butler Pike. On June 13, 2016, Plymouth Township Council Meeting will be meeting. This is the elected officials meeting. They will vote on what was discussed at the Planning Meeting. I have forwarded the traffic concerns to David Conroy, Plymouth Township Zoning Officer. He will forward the concerns to the others on the committee. Karen Weiss was copied in that letter.

What we want:

Immediate:

  1. 4 way stop signs and cross walks with flashing lights when pedestrians are crossing Plymouth Rd at the main entrance/exits for Parc Apartments and Cold Point Station.
  2. Completion of sidewalk leaving Parc Apartments at the corner of Plymouth Rd and Butler Pike.
  3. Access to road leaving Parc Apartments currently blocked leading to Butler Pike as an alternative exit.

Future:

  1. 4 way traffic lights installed at the main entrance/exits for Parc Apartments and Cold Point Station Village.
  2. A new traffic study conducted to monitor the future entrance/exit of the retail CVS at the corner of Plymouth Rd and Butler Pike.

Thank you,

Dana Walters

The traffic at Plymouth Rd and Butler Pike is horrendous. Trying to make a left turn out of PARC apartments or a right from Cold Point is nearly impossible during rush hour. Trying to cross the street during a walk I is extremely dangerous

I am 17 years old. I got my license in October 2015 and it is very difficult /scary for me to go out of the complex. I feel that I do not have enough time between cars and am scared that I will be in an accident.

I live at Parc and I do walk across the street to the center. It is very dangerous walking across the street dodging cars. Please, we need something!!

Dear Councilman and all other Representatives: I have experienced many rough times exiting the Parc Apartments especially during the peak hours. There is just too much traffic in both directions. It is very dangerous to exit onto Plymouth Road. Sometimes, I have to go over into the Cold Point Station Village. Most of the time, I have problems crossing the road to and from Station Village. I have to wait until traffic slows down which could take several minutes.I agree with all suggestions that was discussed to alleviate this dangerous situation. Thank you for your consideration. I am in agreement with both the immediate and future suggestions set forth in the petition. I am sure that a traffic study had to have been conducted when the Parc development was presented to the appropriate governmental bodies, and said study must have projected the amount of traffic increase due to the development of Parc. Was the study fallacious in its conclusions or did the final approved plan ignore the need for traffic calming at a minimum? With a CVS coming soon, ingress and egress discussion regarding that development is paramount.

I currently live at Parc. It is extremely difficult to make a left turn out of the complex. A 4 way stop would be fantastic. Better walkability would be nice. We need to have safe finished sidewalks.

Having the access road open (for right turns only) would be an immediate improvement while installation of stop sign and lights at the Parc/Cold Point intersection is considered and implemented.
