Summary:
Due to the North Maple Street Extension Project underway, Traffic Lights/Improvements will be needed to reduce the safety risk and prevent accidents and subsequent loss of life as a result of the dramatic increase in traffic. The Project will create a public safety concern for the residents of the Summit who will be attempting to make a left turn out of the neighborhood onto Parsons Rd.
Action petitioned for:
We the undersigned residents of the SUMMIT, call on our local County Council and SCDOT to provide traffic controls/improvements along Parsons Rd to allow safe access to and from our neighborhood.
We implore you to hear our plea and keep our community safe. We believe that the cost can be justified by the prevention of just one fatality.
We as a collective community look to our local County Council for help and acknowledgement of responsibility in this very serious and urgent matter.

I am in favor of a light at the entrance of the Summit on Parson Road. I make a left hand turn daily to take my child to school and have already had a few close calls. The increase in traffic will only make a left hand turn more difficult. There is a bend in the road making viability an issue. It is only a matter of time before there is an accident. Traffic on Parsons is getting insane lately. Trying to pull out of the Summit is a nightmare during rush hour and someone is gonna get hurt bad eventually. Just put the light in already.

Parson Road need a stoplight at the entry coming into the Summit. Parson Road is very dangerous road and is in dyer need of something to slow down the speed of cars on this road.
