the school board just made it official and the gym is going to be named after lucy. i am crying thinking about how much she wouldve loved to see this happen. thank you all for helping make her memory permanent.

To Honor Lucy Bell by naming Magnolia School Gym the "Mattie F. (Lucy) Bell Gymnasium

Lucy Bell was a part of Magnolia School's athletic program since her young years as a Trojan basketball standout. From that time until her recent death she has mentored hundreds and hundreds of students at Magnolia School. She not only mentored them, she fed, clothed, disciplined, advised, chaperoned, nurtured, taught and above all she loved each and every student that she came in contact over the many, many years of involvement at Magnolia School She has cleaned the school, held many successful fundraising efforts for the athletic program and PTA, improved our grounds, and was Magnolia's biggest fan for the children; especially student athletes. She deserves this honor and more. Please sign the petition which will be presented to the Public Schools of Robeson County School Board.

She would be very deserving of this honor considering her accomplishments while at Magnolia High School and later as a mother supporting her children there and finally as a community supporter and activist.
Ms. Lucy was Magnolia she poured her heart and soul into the school and the community. She was truly a blessing and she is truly missed everyday
1985 magnolia graduate. And this honor needs to go to this outstanding mentor and person
She paid for me to go with her girls to basketball camp. I will always remember Ms. Lucy and family.
Mrs. Mattie Bell spent a lifetime helping out with the children of saddletdee community and magnolia high school. What better way to honor her legacy. She deserves it as well as anyone
