We ask Ventura High School to honor beloved Teacher and Coach Micky Perry with a portrait on the Ventura High School Gymnasium. This is a meaningful way to recognize a person who helped shape the school community and left a lasting mark on the students, athletes, and families who knew him.
In his 40+ years of teaching, along with 50 years as a Coach, Mickey Perry did more than teach lessons or run practice. He helped young people build confidence, learn discipline, work as a team, and believe in themselves. A portrait on the gym would be a visible reminder of that impact every day & gives our community a place to reflect on the kind of leadership that matters most: steady, encouraging, and rooted in service to others. For all the lives shaped by Micky Perry’s presence, this portrait would not be decorative; it would be a sign of respect, gratitude, and school pride.
We urge Ventura High School to approve this tribute and place a portrait of Micky Perry in the gymnasium so his legacy can continue to inspire future generations.
Mickey Perry was a core support to all student athletes and still has relationships throughout the community with former student athletes including myself. He made a big impact in so many athletes lives and truly deserves to be recognized for all of his years of service at VHS.
