We, the students of Medway High School and supporters of this petition, hereby petition the Medway School Committee to re-name the newly implemented "South Field" to be named in memoriam of the late Madeline Lamson as "Maddie Lamson Field". In doing so, the memory of Maddie will forever be carried on through the hearts and souls of each player that steps on the field. Not only an amazing 3-Sport varsity player, Maddie was an example on and off the field as she exemplified those ideals embraced in the school handbook. She deserves something this simple to acknowledge all that she did for each person who crossed paths with her. The below signatures support the fact that this is the paramount name for the field and the most excellent way to never forget Maddie.

This should happen! I mean no offense to any other Medway family who have endured such a tragedy as death of a child. This petition is an opportunity to memorialize a student that represents so much of what we teach our children from a very young age and that we, as a town, are proud of in our students. Let us keep that empowerment alive through Maddie's name.
Having 2 children that had the privilege to play with Maddie and experience her leadership as both a team captain and a phenomenal team mate, I can't think of an easier decision to make. Putting Maddies name on the field is a no brainer.
Student-athletes, spectators, families and weekend workout warriors will get to know and remember Maddie for generations to come! Her scholarship will inspire others to be like her, always lending a hand, including everyone from the sidelines and being the loudest cheerleader. I support the naming of this field 100%.
South Field is quite a generic name, seemingly devoid of any sentimental value. Renaming this field after Maddie Lamson, a loved member of the community of Medway, is certainly an infallible decision.
The field was Maddie's home and she 100% deserves it as a memorial. She played, inspired, and even mowed the fields. I strongly support the decision to name the field after my dear friend Maddie Lamson.
Never met the young lady I'm from Mechanicsburg PA but was reading about her and it sounds like a very honorable thing to do for Maddie, RIP Maddie you were a very beautiful young lady God Bless
As a parent who lost their daughter to Cancer at the age of 21 after a two year battle and a Varsity player her entire High School career this should happen for this young lady and her family. Life is not equal. If it were Maddie and my daughter would be here today. We had to petition the school for the same reason. Best of luck tomorrow night at the School Committee.

As a former Medway High School student, I also experience the tragic death of two schoolmates. I think that remembering young people in this way is important to the grieving process for their peers and that they shouldn't be forgotten. Everyone has an impact.
