Mrs. Sally Mucica has been nominated to have the Wood End School Library named in her honor!

She has done so much for our schools and our children over the last 39 years and I can't think of a more deserving recipient. As a first grade teacher she inspired our children to love reading - which is why it’s so appropriate that her legacy be cemented with the naming of the Wood End School Library in her honor.

The School Council has approved this nomination to move to the Subcommittee for their decision. The Subcommittee meeting is slated to take place on February 10th and all are welcome to attend and/or speak on Sally's behalf. It would be wonderful to show the Subcommittee how many parents and teachers are behind this initiative so we ask that you please sign this petition and please spread the word!

Many thanks and GO SALLY!

I have been reading all of your memories of Sally and they perfectly capture the warmth she brought to every classroom for thirty nine years. Seeing these stories reminds me exactly why we started this journey to honor her at Wood End. We are preparing our points for the upcoming subcommittee meeting and your support gives us the strength to keep pushing for this naming.

Seeing this level of support for Mrs. Mucica is truly overwhelming because she taught my own children to fall in love with books. The momentum behind her name feels like a beautiful testament to the decades she spent shaping our classrooms.

As Sally's niece, I know how much she loved teaching and the children. This would be a huge honor!

Sally had dedicated so many years to teaching kids to read, and continues to do so in her "retirement"

As I was saying, I can still remember her teaching me to read in the "vanilla" group! Times may have changed but Sally always worked hard to spread a love for reading to her students. Naming the Wood End Library is a wonderful way to honor her!

Sally Mucica is a phenomenal teacher. She gave so much to so many, and always in a loving, caring, genuine, and professional manner. I feel lucky that my daughter (who is a senior in high school now) was in her first grade class.

It was a privilege to work with such a phenomenal teacher! Caring, talented, knowledgable, fun... Sally brought it all to the classroom. I wholeheartedly support the nomination of my former colleague, and forever friend!!

Sally is a wonderful teacher and person. My son had her in first grade and still speaks of her kindness and skill at making every student feel important.

She was my first grade teacher and my favorite teacher ever. It is only the right thing to do to name it for her.
