This past Father's day our neighbors house caught on fire. Paul Montoya was there doing everything possible to help. He went above and beyond. I think Hallsville is Lucky to have a police chief that cares so much for the community.
Paul has helped my my family on several occasions. He has responded outside of hallsville city limits and went off duty. Seems like exactly the type of person that this town needs his police chief. And involved and caring but tough person.
Paul Montoya does amazing things for the community. They don't make police chiefs like him. There will never be a better fit. I personally applaud him for taking matters into his own hands to alleviate the congestion of the school traffic. It's a nightmare!!
No police chief had ever brought the hallsville community this close, he does amazing things for the community weather it be alerting people about flooded roads or getting out in the pouring rain and moving a log off the road .
This is probably THE biggest mistake that Hallsville has made. This man has done more for this town in 4 years than I saw in the 10 years I was here prior to his being hired. He was hired for a reason, he is human, and he will make mistakes.
Paul needs to come back and be the Police Chief Again.
Paul Montoya has don't nothing but try to make this community a better place. And in MANY people's opinions, he has succeeded. I believe the means for dismissal of the chief were petty and was not viable evidence that he should be terminated.

If this decision is based solely on a complainant from the school over traffic issues then the the city council has gone to far. If it's about something else and they are using this as their excuse then they should be more transparent.
