We the students and student athletes of Cannon School are hereby petitioning the Board of Directors on behalf of Shawn Powell for Athletic Director. We believe the school and the hiring committee have overlooked the most qualified and most deserving candidate out of the selection pool...the person doing the job today.
For years, Coach Powell has invested in and supported our athletic and academic progress, as well as our well being. He cares for us...which along with his credentials make him the best possible candidate for Cannon School. The time and personal commitment Coach Powell has invested into us, is the most important pedigree he needs.
We believe Coach Powell is the best possible representative for Cannon Athletics and would like to see him given the job he has already earned.

Coach Powell has done so much for the weight room culture here. Nobody else is more qualified than him.
He actually cares about us as people not just as athletes. Keep him at Cannon!!
Most deserving person for AD. Cares about the cannon students and athletes more than anyone.
Shawn Powell is a staple of cannon athletics. He has seen our programs grow in a positive way. He is not only a great strength and condition coach but he is a great father and husband. He is the most deserving person for this position I could think of.
Powell took a struggling weight lifting program to one of the best well run top to bottom programs in the state. He got his athletes to buy in to what he was preaching and Cannon athletics has taken off ever since
