The council have proposed changes to the speed limit between Corfe Castle and Swanage. The open road from Corfe to Harmans will be changed from 50 to 40 and through Harmans from 40 to 30. This petition is against these changes as the speed limit is currently fine and safe and keeps everything flowing at a good sensible speed. This area is not built up and is safe to do the current speed.
The momentum is building fast. It is clear that locals want to keep these roads moving.

why change something that works perfectly well. To slow the traffic down further would be a nightmare!

Unnecessary reduction in speed on a main A class road. Majority of accidents are outside a garage on a bend. Harmans Cross has very few pedestrians and pavements are available on either side of the road. There are six speed changes within four miles between Corfe Castle & Swanage.

I would like to see the rationale and data to back this up, as a commuter and a resident I don't see what this seeks to achieve.

Not required. It's already a slow route.

wonder how long before council produces statistics to back them up.
