The administration continues to maintain its current course despite the growing public opposition. I am currently preparing a formal inquiry to request the data used to justify these lethal methods.

The momentum behind this initiative continues to grow at an impressive rate. This collective effort demonstrates that our community desires a more humane approach to wildlife management within our borders.

It is disturbing that our commissioners would allow arrows to fly in our parks and golf course at the same time these areas are being used by kids going to and from school. What lessons will the kids be learning by this?

In my view, the problem is not the deer, but the drivers. Most of our streets carry 25 mph speed limits, but drivers seem to ignore them. Perhaps if more drivers were fined for speeding, there would be fewer accidents.

The Mt. Lebo Commission is lacking the political will to adopt modern effective methods for managing deer without the risk of lethal weapons in our dense urban community. The bow-hunting contract allows hunting in the parks during park use, e.g. children's soccer games & practices, joggers, dog walkers, families using the trails and play areas. It is irresponsible to allow hunting in close proximity to our families and pets. Urban parks are for people, not hunting. Residents need to send a clear message to the Commission that Mt. Lebanon is one of the most dense communities in the County and we demand safer non-lethal alternatives.
