I am a Mt. Lebanon resident and I oppose the Municipality’s violent plan to kill deer within Mt. Lebanon’s borders.

In my view, the problem is not the deer, but the drivers. Most of our streets carry 25 mph speed limits, but drivers seem to ignore them. Perhaps if more drivers were fined for speeding, there would be fewer accidents.

Agree with Stacey that it's O.K. if some folks don't like the deer; it's NOT O.K. that they want to put US at risk because of a dangerously reckless solution to THEIR perceived problem!

The Mt. Lebo Commission is lacking the political will to adopt modern effective methods for managing deer without the risk of lethal weapons in our dense urban community. The bow-hunting contract allows hunting in the parks during park use, e.g. children's soccer games & practices, joggers, dog walkers, families using the trails and play areas. It is irresponsible to allow hunting in close proximity to our families and pets. Urban parks are for people, not hunting. Residents need to send a clear message to the Commission that Mt. Lebanon is one of the most dense communities in the County and we demand safer non-lethal alternatives.

Let's move beyond the killing, Mt. Lebanon, and in its place consider some constructive, peaceful and safe programs.

It's their home too! It's only a matter of time before someone other than a deer is shot!

It is disturbing that our commissioners would allow arrows to fly in our parks and golf course at the same time these areas are being used by kids going to and from school. What lessons will the kids be learning by this?

Archery season is from September 19 - November 28, 2015 and then again December 26 - January 23, 2016. The killing will start in six weeks.

Enough of this carnage to support the spoiled, rich gardeners in this community. This is outrageous, and the community is so over it!
