This petition is in support of the class action against the school due to their refusal to refund a portion of fees and tuition for the 2020 Spring semester. This Issue has resulted in the financial brunt of the effects of the pandemic on students and their families. As stated in the lawsuit “It is unfair and unlawful for St. John’s to retain tuition and fees for services not being provided and to pass the losses on to the students and their families.” If you agree that the university has failed to fully support its students financially, academically and socially during COVID-19 or want to stand in solidarity with the students, it is encouraged that you sign this petition and spread it amongst the student body and those in support of this initiative. This petition is not limited to students of St John’s.

Shame on you, St. John’s Uni. This is such a crucial time. And to see that you’re not supporting your students is plain sad. As a Catholic university, shouldn’t you be more understanding?
Due to Covid-19, St.Johns University’s students did not get to get out education on campus nor did we enjoy the on campus festivities. We should be refunded that tuition.
This is unfair to us who have worked so hard to get this far and not even to be recognized for this is disgusting
It goes against all morality to hold funds for something not supplied. Venues/artists are having to refund for cancelled shows...why should a university be different? Students don’t have much money anyway...give them a chance!!
Totally agree. The kids deserve a refund. There is no way the education level was the same. They deserve compensation.

I am a student at St. John’s and resonate with this. Once online-learning started being practiced I assumed we would receive some sort of refund for tuition as the caliber of education was not up to par with the in-person learning I paid tuition for, however that sentiment was never acknowledged.
