Because of the current COVID-19 pandemic, all students at DSU are forced to take online classes during the entire summer semester. This is understandable, but class fees the same is absolutely unreasonable. The students have lost access to many of the amenities that our student fees pay for. This includes, but is not limited to Gym access, large study groups, in person lecture, labs (and all of the equipment in labs), tutoring centers, etc.

Because we don't have this same access, the same course fees cannot be justified, and because we are having to make due with much fewer resources, our course fees should reflect that. The way it is set up now is that students this summer semester will be forced to pay these expensive fees and tuition, for less access to college resources than any students have ever had.

My goal is to collect signatures from enough DSU students and community members, so that our course fees fees are fairly adjusted for those of us that take summer semester courses. I hope to make a difference, and save students money this semester, and to be treated fairly. We cannot be expected to pay all the student fees, and not have access to any of the student resources. I hope every DSU student considers signing. Please share this with everybody you can think of that agrees with this.
