This petition encourages reconsideration of the proposed tuition fee increase for 2026-2027 undergraduate students by AUS. It is an increase of almost 5%, occurring at a time of great geopolitical and financial instability for students and their families.
This petition also campaigns for the waiving of lab/activity fees for the Spring 2026 semester. Half of the semester was spent online, with students prohibited from accessing the lab equipment and campus facilities they had paid for in advance.
Keeping fees unchanged and waiving activity fees would be a meaningful and lasting act of solidarity with the student body. It would prove that at AUS, the wellbeing of students and their families comes first.
We deeply urge AUS to reconsider the 2026-2027 tuition increase and waive lab/activity fees for the Spring 2026 semester.

I don’t think this increase is valid, apart from that students were not even notified about this. I had to find out about this increase from other students and not from the relevant authorities.
Many students and families are already struggling with living costs, housing, and transportation. Raising the tuition adds unnecessary stress and could affect students’ ability to continue their education
The money we paid for Fall 2026 is specifically for face-to-face learning, otherwise we would have went to an online university instead. Since we won’t be getting refunds from that, an increase in prices next semester absolutely isn’t needed.
This is ridiculous. We’re all in a situation where parents and students are loosing their jobs due to being online for a while. And we don’t know how long it’ll last for. Absolutely ridiculous there’s absolutely no reason for fees to increase and for scholarships to get less !!!!!
This wasn’t communicated at all. We haven’t even been using the facility for the past few months. This is not ethical we were not warned and on top of that we have to pay for stuff like homework platforms for physics and maths. This is completely unreasonable
What is the reason for this increase? When majority of the spring semester was online and students couldn’t access any of the labs or facilities! This doesn’t make sense …
I paid the deposit to AUS on the premise that it was exactly my budget (not one dirham less than my budget)

What warrants the increase in fees, when most of the fees we spent in Spring 2026 were pointless? Online classes started on March 2nd, meaning we spent 2 months in person and 3 online. If anything, fees should've been decreased and lab fees should've been waivered.
