We want to start a security task force to patrol within close proximity of the schools in our community of Rockingham Co VA, to help offer extra security and quicker response in the case of a school shooting. We have a course of action and a plan in which to implement said service. We want to use local Veterans and retired law enforcement as the task force therefore creating steady work and purpose for our Veterans. We are asking the community for your support in this decision to answer the call for this need. We have intention to present this plan and petition to the school board and local law enforcement. For more information, we will be offering all details at the March 12th 2018 school board meeting. Please join us in support to help in making our community safer and stronger. The feedback from local families has been heavy and honest as we prepare to present this plan. I am exhausted by the constant uphill climb of these meetings but we are staying focused on securing our schools. Progress feels slow right now but the mission remains vital.

Reaching this level of support takes a massive toll but seeing the community rally behind our veterans proves that we are on the right path. I am exhausted by the constant uphill battle yet I remain fully committed to seeing this plan reach the board.

Thanks to everyone for your support thus far. Every child, teacher and staff member of any/all schools is important. We are starting with our local community but we are in hopes that it will spread like a ripple in water. We all have to come together as a community to turn this idea, into a reality that can then be implemented in surrounding communities.
I strongly believe this should be in all the schools Rockingham, Shenandoah County,all the schools. All kids all teachers,staff,etc.that are there for the children for there future need to be protected in every SCHOOL SYSTEM. THANKS.
Would like to see security in schools and entrance gun detectors.

That would be an Awesome. Thing to help keep all the children safe this is a good ideal...also place metal detectors at the main doors would also help
