I am starting this petition in response to the increase in school shootings. This is an epidemic that has increased exponentially over the past couple of years. I believe that these are happening in part of minimal security officers at the schools. We all know a veteran in some form or fashion, these men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice to defend our great nation. These are men and women who have been trained to adapt to the most strenuous of circumstances. The number of unemployed veterans is at an alarming high, no fault of their own. I believe most of these veterans still have the passion and dedication to serve and protect others. This is why I am starting a petition to send to our congressmen and women to start implementing 2-3 armed veterans at schools across the nation to help prevent and minimize the amount of and severity of these shootings. These men and women would need to undergo background checks, psych evaluations, and some specialized training before being offered a position. This would put a lot of parents minds at ease and in turn create a large amount of jobs for the brave souls who risked it all to protect our freedom. I am asking for your signature to create a safer environment for our children to grow and thrive without the threat of the unthinkable happening. Thank you so much for your cooperation.
