The changing of the names three Memphis city parks because the names were offense, has destoryed a part of Southern history. Jefferson Davis park, Confederate park, and Nathan Beddford Forrest park were all Changed by the City. The Confederacy Abolished Slavery in March of 1865. Robert E. Lee along with several other Generals in Gray signed the bill, Jefferson Davis passed the bill, and the Confederacy had offically abolished slavery before the end of the civil war. Do these brave Black Confederate soliders deserve to be Dishonored? Are they lesser than their Northern Counter-part? The Confederacy was not only for white men. Black men, Hispanics, Hebrews, and Native Americans all fought, Died and Served Honorably to have the privileges and liberties of the South. Renamed the parks after the Famous Confederate soliders that died for their country's well being, and make a difference!
