After years of providing a venue for live music the folks who run Mountain Sky in Scott Township PA have been shut down. There are permit issues and other legal mumbo jumbo involved but we the undersigned see the value in and feel its important to have a place for people to see shows in Northeast PA.

Many of the acts that play Mountain Sky are unable to play some of the bigger venues in the area but still have a dedicated audience. Without Mountain Sky, their fans would have to travel hundreds of miles to see these bands preform.

It is our belief that a middle-ground can be obtained with mediation and open discussion rather than essentially closing the venue down. We struggle to see the democracy in shutting down a resource used by thousands every month to satisfy the occasional requests of the few.

We the undersigned believe that the loss of yet another venue in Northeast PA is unacceptable.

Also the folks at Mountain Sky are looking for people that live in Scott Township that believe in us to come to the next township meeting and if interested hit me up at [email protected]

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many of you care about Mountain Sky. We are nearing one thousand signatures and your support is the only reason this is still a conversation. If you can send this link to a few neighbors who value our music scene it might be just enough to get us over this next hill.

Sad that a venue that gives people an opportunity to enjoy talented musicians in a safe environment is being forced to close. We're living in a dying area, culturally, artistically and economically and here is yet another interesting attraction we are losing

Keep this place running! There aren't enough venues in NEPA. Help them out, don't crush them. Maybe the right protocols weren't followed but the thought of having a fun and safe atmosphere for live music is imperative to the success of this area in the coming years.

We need local music venues and Mtn Sky is great for the area. You can't simultaneously state you want young people to stay in NEPA to improve our economy and be for taking away a great venue where young and older alike share their love of music

I am 55 years old, a Scranton Firefighter. I have attended several events at Mountain Sky,some with my children. I have never encountered anything I would consider problematic there. It is a great family friendly place for the performing arts

This is a great local, professionally run venue and community outlet for venders and bands. The draw is mild to moderate of environment and neighbor conscience families and friends that bring revenue to the areas shops groceries and economy.

As a full time professional musician I truly value venues like Mountain Sky. The cultural benefit to the community is immeasurable. As someone who experienced it first hand, performing and listening to others perform, I say long live Mountain Sky!

It's a beautiful piece of land, it would be ashamed not to be able to use it.
