"Last week the Improper Bostonian was served a notice stating that they would no longer be allowed to harbor live entertainment or serve any alcohol past 10:30 p.m.
This is due to a petition signed by only 5 neighbors who complain that the establishment is too loud, and that the TOWN MUNICIPAL parking lot is out of control at 1:00.
These neighbors have lived in Dennisport for only a few short years, while the IMPROPER BOSTONIAN has stood strong for over 40.
Not only will this terrible decision affect the 15-25 employees staffed every year, but it will effect the livelihood of all of the musicians who depend on their weekly shows over the summer season.
If you think that the economy is bad now, imagine what will happen when the tourists begin to lose their favorite nightlife and entertainment spots.
If we allow this to happen to us at the Improper, it will only be a matter of time before we have no where to go.
The Improper Bostonian is a staple for tourists in the summer season that bring a much needed monitary flow to our community. Please Help us by just becoming a fan. This page will serve as a cyber petition that we can use in Town Hall meetings to defend our beloved IMPROPER!
The Improper is legendary for having some of the best entertainment on cape, supporting local acts such as ROOTS DOWN BELOW, HIGHLY SUSPECT, SHANGO AXE, JO AND CO, and JIM PLUNKETT just to name a few.

I keep watching the counter tick up and it is honestly wild to see how many of you care about this place (honestly I have been staring at the screen for hours just waiting for it to flip). If everyone here could just grab a few people you know who love the Improper and tell them to jump on this right now we would hit those five hundred signatures before the sun goes down. We really need this extra push to show them how many of us are actually paying attention.

The improper is a staple on the cape. 5 people shouldnt be able to ruin a business that has been there for 40 years.
Ridiculous. If you move next to a bar dont complain about the noise. People need to grow up.
40 years of history vs some new neighbors who want to change everything? Leave the Improper alone!
KEEP THE IMPROPER OPEN. MY FAMILY HAS BEEN GOING THERE FOR YEARS.
Town hall is being way too aggressive here. Those employees need their jobs. Let them work.

This place is the highlight of my summer trips. So sad to hear they are trying to shut it down.
