A planning application for nearly 300 houses on the green belt land opposite Smokies on Ashton Road. If successful this will increase the population of Bardsley by 55% OVERNIGHT!!!!
Regardless of tree protection orders, and red status wildlife this planning application is making rapid progress towards being granted. WE ONLY HAVE UNTIL 18TH MARCH to submit a valid appeal. VOLUNTEERS AND HELPERS REQUIRED TO SPREAD THE WORD.

I spent the entire morning staring at the maps for the Ashton Road site and honestly it just makes me feel sick thinking about those trees coming down. I have been trying to get a straight answer from the council planning office but they just keep pointing me toward these massive documents that are basically impossible to read without a headache. Please keep talking to your neighbors about this because if we stop paying attention for even a second they are just going to push right ahead with these houses.

I honestly cannot believe how fast this is growing and people are actually seeing the danger to the land opposite Smokies now. My phone is vibrating constantly with notifications and I hope the local council is feeling this kind of pressure because it is just wild to watch.

I was just looking at the counter and realized we are creeping up on that first hundred which feels like a real step forward even if it is just the beginning of what we need to get done. My head is spinning a bit thinking about all those houses and the trucks driving down Ashton Road so please just tell anyone who will listen to add their name because we need the noise level to stay very high right now.

The field adjacent to Bardsley Vale Ave forms part of the Medlock River Valley ecological system and is an important migration route for our wildlife. It is also the only green space which divides Ashton from Oldham on the A627, it would be a tragedy to build on such a beautiful site.
We cannot afford to lose any more green space in Bardsley we have wondearful wildlife here even deer. The are 1000's of empty properties in Oldham that could be renivated to create affordable homes.
Please do not build on our beautiful green belt. We chose to live and bring our daughters up in Bardsley because of the beautiful surrounding area that is BARDSLEY . The area won’t be able to cope with 300 new homes and it won’t be classed as a village anymore.
We have already been facing disruption with building going on, we haven't a school,dr's dentist, and only one shop in Bardsley. Everyone of these within a two mile radius is over subscribed now.
Build on disused brown land instead of green belt. This in itself will help clean up Oldham and also create space for houses. The easy option is to dig up countryside. Development on brown land will help with your commitments to both housing and environmental issues.
It's a disgrace. Why destroy beautiful landscapes and nature reserves when there are perfectly good brownfield sites around Oldham that can be turned into something good and improves the aesthetics of Oldham with a potential to put Oldham back on the map as a good place to live.
Busy enough in this area with cars etc. Only one road to Oldham or Ashton and its manic all day long. No where for the children to safely play, we need green open spaces for the community and wildlife and general well being of the current residents, it will bring increased pollution to the area, leave well alone, use other brown sites in Oldham, there are enough of them. Leave our green belt alone.

Ashton road is busy enough and people to do not always adhere to the speed limit it's a major road for the ambulance service more traffic means more people waiting for a much needed emergency service
