Keep the Green in Marston Green and STOP future development on the green fields (adjacent to Marston Green Cemetery) and indeed green fields everywhere.

The above green belt land has been used for cutting hay and as grazing land for well over thirty years. I am the present tenant and have been for many, many years. Unfortunately I have now been given notice to quit and move my horses as the land owners want to sell the land to developers.

Some years ago the land owners applied for their land (Land to the north and south of Bickenhill Road) Marston Green, to be taken out of the green belt. Their request was turned down by the planning department but I have been told that they can apply again within the next three years. Unfortunately there is no guarantee that permission will not be given. Their request could be turned down again but I want the Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council planning department and also the land owners and future developers to know that we will not have development on this land or indeed any of our green fields.

Updates

September 28, 2015

The landowners are waiting for us to lose interest so they can move forward with their plans. Send an email to your local council representatives today and demand they reject any future re-zoning requests for the Bickenhill Road fields.

The response to this campaign proves that our community values these green fields far more than new construction. Contact your local council representative today to tell them that this land must stay protected from developers.

Leave our green land alone, there are enough brownland going spare, ie the old smith nephew site and Manor pub, absolute eyesore.Build on that

And yet another greedy landowner who's only interest is money! Does no one ever consider the wildlife who's environment is snatched away. Marston Green will soon be no different from any large, sprawling over populated estate, just house after house and very few green spaces left.

no more developments in marston green. the infrastructure cannot cope as it is.this is a beutifull part of the country and developing on it would destroy the area.the horses have been their for years and have given pleasure to lots of people.the small QUIET cemetery as many relatives from people in marston green and bickenhill. laid to rest their because of the peace and quiet and lovely surroundings.leave the land alone. leave the lady alone.we will fight you.

This land is next to Marston green cemetery, it is peaceful and a joy to see the horses when i visit . I would be appalled to see houses built on this land

Facilities are already stretched in the village. There are serious sewage problems as a result of all the added new build that has already taken place. Victorian drainage cannot cope with today’s volumes including toilet wipes and disposable nappies!! We regularly have e our back garden covered in other people effluent!!

Sadly 'progress' isn't always for the best! Neither is consumerism.
