Play at Ashfiedl throughout my childhood. I left Standish years ago but still visit to see my parents. It's disgusting what Wigan Council have let happen to the small market town I grew up in. How many more houses do tehy want to crowbar in?

I have used Ashfield park together with my family since 1968 and greatly value it as being the last remaining open green space left in Standish and would be unthinkable to loose it to yet more unaffordable housing developments.

having used Ashfield park for over the last 40 years, not only for my children, but now my grandchildren i find it totally unacceptable to build houses on this much needed park, with the help of csr fairhurst we will fight tooth & nail to give it village green status, for all to enjoy.

Was this the Olympic Legacy? We should be creating places for children to play outside, not destroying them. All the fields that used to be off Lurdin Lane have already been built on. The council should be preserving this small recreational area for the people of Standish.

i was at school in the 50s ashfield park was a play area.we need councilers who care about our future generations having somewhere to play . i now walk my dog in ashfieldpark and it is used by hundreds of families let keep it that way

Standish is already spoiled by far too many houses. The road network is overloaded at peak times causing pollution and frayed tempers. When my grandchildren come to visit they always want to go to Ashfield Park. It is time other parts of the country shared the load
