Standish has already experienced more than its fair share of large-scale housing developments, placing increasing strain on local roads, schools, healthcare services, and infrastructure.

The current infrastructure is already struggling to cope. Further development would only worsen congestion, reduce quality of life, and place unsustainable pressure on our community.

We, the undersigned, strongly oppose these six proposed sites being included in the emerging Local Plan or taken forward for development.

We call on Wigan Council to:
• Not include these sites in the Local Plan
• Reject their progression to future development stages
• Prioritise infrastructure and community capacity before allocating any further housing

Standish cannot take any more.

This is good well drained grassland in good condition. Current Traffic around the Boars Head is dreadful at peak times detracting from commuting into town from the Standish Area. There are many other Brown Field sites which could be developed - approval of planning permission on this site would further relegate sites which are less attractive for developers.

This would be against all current policies and the Standish neighbourhood policies.

Standish has had more than it's fair share of housing built . The infrastructure hasn't got ayore capacity. Health care in the area is also in crisis. We are also losing too much green space which is beneficial to mental and physica health. The wild life will soon have nowhere to go. NO MORE HOUSING

There is no safe access to the Wigan Road from proposed site 29, near the Boars Head. The junctions are already operating beyond capacity. There is inadequate infrastructure including schools, roads, rail, health care, car parking and other local amenities. Please consider other sites within the Wigan Borough outside of Standish

There is not the infrastructure to support any new development in Standish. Living on the main road the traffic is horrendous and already difficult to get out of the drive. Accidents waiting to happen. A journey from Wigan hospital to the Boars head at tea time traffic can take up to a 45 minute journey. Unreal any new building only will add to the volume

Standish can’t cope with more houses being built. The roads can’t take any more traffic going through our village. We will have no green field for the animals that thrive in Standish especially the deers and foxes. The doctors can’t cope with more patients and the schools are over subscribed. No to more building of houses!

Too much already built in Standish

Too many properties and no improvements in the road network or additional services; doctors, dentist and schools to meet demand of increased number of residents.
