A VETERAN SANCTUARY
Veterans have served at the risk of life and livelihoods. Family stability and long-term provision for there welfare has suffered as a result of extended deployment abroad. Combat environment stress has left many with ongoing physical and mental wounds. Those wounds when not treated properly are reflected in high incidence of suicide and substance addiction.
Veterans suffering under maladies as a result of their sacrifices are to be assured that when they have nowhere to turn, the patriots of Hampton Roads have a will and means to help them heal. No one is more deserving of love and support than those who have been willing to lay down their lives for their fellow countrymen.
We, the People and the representative authorities of this Hampton Roads region affirm our self-less commitment to our veterans in need and to facilitate their recovery into a life of wholeness and productivity to satisfy the longings of their souls. No veteran will be left behind.
