Let us acknowledge and appreciate the real heroes of the United States, our veterans. We do not need/want a military parade with tanks rolling through WDC, costing millions of dollars, (estimated 30 million). We, the undersigned, demand - take that money and support our homeless veterans. There are 50,000 homeless veterans today on our streets; 22 commit suicide every day.
Let us now take care of them, as they have been taking care of us for years

I feel very very strongly that it is insane to honor our soldiers with a parade but not help them get treatment for PTSD (life EMDR) and get them off the streets and in homes.
Homeless vets deserve to live in dignity. They must be given a good pension for their participation in serving this country - a pension that allows them to have housing and complete, free, quality healthcare coverage. Military parades would be a disgrace to this nation. It is a travesty to waste one cent on such ridiculous and dangerous notions.
It makes no sense to have a parade...none at all...
It is time to honor our vets. They did so much for us.
No military parade of any kind. All money that would have been made available should go to addressing this nation's embarrassing homeless vet problem.
We owe our vets more than hopes, prayers, and hypocrisy.

My mother and father are both WWII Marines. They think the money should go to Vets, not parades. Thank you for initiating this petition.
