The autistic special needs group at our school is being kicked out next year! Sign this petition to help let them stay at Del Mar Middle School. There are limited relocation options for this class of 5 autistic kids and if they can't stay at Del Mar, they might have to go into a non-school environment, like office space. It is important these kids stay at a school so they can develop life skills with the fellow students, which is something they can't do in an office building. Although they are getting rid of this original class of kids, they are replacing it with another special education class. But, let's make space for our Room 2 kids and let them continue to learn with us at Del Mar Middle School!!! SHARE THIS WITH EVERYONE YOU KNOW!!!! THIS IS URGENT!!!

One hundred people have signed on to keep these kids at Del Mar. It has been an exhausting week of fighting this decision but seeing this support keeps me going.

I am a psychologist with a specialty in program development for kids with ASD in schools. After 30 years of experience I finally learned what these kids already know: inclusion benefits typical as well as atypical kids. Even typical kids will not learn social skills in an office building. thanks for your wisdom

This is so important for all the children. My kids participated for years when they were at Glenwood and still talk about it now that they are in HS. Del Mar, please look beyond your space concerns and don't miss the real life educational opportunity you have at hand.

Please... Do not remove our special needs children from their local school. They deserve to be there just as much as the typical children and deserve respect and a solid education. Do the right thing and find another way to accommodate for a growing population. The humanity of your school environment depends on how you treat all your children!

It is a wonderful class and gives great credit to the school! It is wonderful for the Developmental and Autistic kids and teaches the Buddy Kids great compassion!

A supportive inclusive classroom does not exist in every school, or with every group of students. When this balance is found, it is life changing for students and families alike. If this is legal, it shouldn't be. Seems like the least restrictive environment to me.

These kids are incredibly important to our school. I can't bear not see them waving at me everyday as I go to class. They are part of our del mar family.
