The council confirmed they are moving ahead with the road extension to finally keep those heavy trucks off our street. I can finally sleep through the night without worrying about the safety of my neighbors and the children at the local center. Thank you for pushing for this change until …

We are proposing that Georges River Council extend the existing road infrastructure to the East of Anderson Rd to allow for alternate means of access for vehicles traveling to the Industrial Zoned area. Currently, residents are woken from 3:00am by large truck and utility vehicles traveling to factories within the Industrial Area. In addition, the increased frequency of oversized truck and utility vehicles, often travelling at speeds well over legal limits, creates a major safety risk for residents and pedestrians. This matter of safety has also been raised by the existing Child Care centre. If council can extend existing roads from Depot Rd and Norman St to Barry Ave, these points of access along with access from Hearne St would provide 3 alternate means of access for vehicles traveling to this industrial zone. This would then allow Anderson Rd to become a no through road from Boundary Rd and thus improve the overall safety and amenity of the street.

Please sign the petition and support this important proposal.

The constant noise and reckless driving on Anderson Road still keeps my family awake at night. I have been talking with the local child care center staff and they are just as worried as I am about the danger these trucks pose to our children. We are currently gathering the documentation requested by the council and hope this proves that our street cannot handle this traffic any longer.

Waking up to the hum of heavy trucks at three in the morning has stolen so much sleep from my family. Seeing this amount of support pouring in gives me hope that we can finally reclaim the quiet safety of our street.

This is an ideal change and a thorough proposal that appears to make sensible compromises. The current situation is dangerous. On the decline of the road its easy for the large trucks to pick up speed, let alone those who just want to get to work super quick. Add in very large trees that obscure the footpaths and a local families with kids its an unsafe environment.

I strongly support this petition .Anderson road is becoming dangerous. With industrial waste trucks and other heavy vehicles using it now .This heavy truck problem is set to increase dramatically with the proposal to have a waste processing plant in Hearne st. they will all be taking short cuts down Anderson rd day and night.

I completely support this petition, The second you reverse out of your home the trucks are right on you, A very dangerous road. Also a large increase in particle (dust & dirt) in Anderson road last few years. No place for this sort of operation when young children and seniors have to use this supposingly family oriented area.

Trying to reverse or drive out of my driveway with my baby in the car is frightening. There are often large trucks parked on the street blocking the view and the speed of the trucks coming up/down Anderson Road makes it a disaster waiting to happen. In addition to the safety concerns, we are consistently woken at 3 or 4 am by trucks & vehicles accessing the industrial area. Something needs to be done to improve the communities safety particularly given there is a childcare centre on Anderson Road.

There are real safety issues here. I am sick of my family being at risk when reversing out of our dirveway when cars, trucks scream into Anderson Road from Boundary Road. I have previously written to Council about this but no action was taken. I'm worried it will take a serious incident before any changes are implemented.

I haven't lived in Anderson very long. But a conversation that has been prevalent in our house over the last 18 months, has definitely been about the noise and traffic on this road. The trucks are definitely a huge issue. However, i think the incident that took place a few months ago, where a hoon crashed into a fence and then proceeded to take off, is a big red flag of other issues that this petition could also help to eliminate. The amount of cars we hear hooning around the streets at all times of the night is ridiculous, and blocking the end of Anderson off would be a great way to alleviate this other problem.

This is a health and safety concern as well as noise pollution that endangers the immediate community on Anderson Road, I believe this is warranted and Council needs to take note and take action as soon as possible.

Please STOP Trucks from using this quiet suburban road with kids playing in the street from BIG trucks zooming through at all times. There is a childcare and children are every where. STOP this from happening !!!!!
