Dear Residents in and around Surrey Quays Road,
I'm sure you've all had close calls crossing Surrey Quays Road.
And those of you that live on Surrey Quays Road will be familiar with the noise and shakes (reminiscent of Jurassic Park) every time a bus or truck drives by: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EEljXeYMxRo
Fear not, there are no dinosaurs in our area!
BUT... there are a dangerous amount of cars and industrial vehicles speeding through Surrey Quays Road.
An issue that will only worsen over the coming year(s) as the number of properties in the area increases - and Sellars redevelop the Decathlon site.
We want to keep our area safe for residents and school children.And lessen the disturbance to residents and buildings along Surrey Quays Road.
Please sign this petition (and pass it on to others!) so we can convince Simon Hughes to implement additional safety measures in our areae.g.
1. Additional pedestrian crossings
2. Reduced speed limits
3. Banned industrial vehicles along the residential end of Surrey Quays Road
+ All additional ideas welcome!

I think rather than reduced speed limits there should be a couple more speed cams. At 30 miles an hour there is not an issue but I do see cars flying by at much more than that.
Any measures to reduce traffic on Surrey Quays Road would be welcome. I've had a couple of close calls on the Zebra crossing for gods sake!
Certainly more pedestrian crossings needed, and possibly a 20 mph limit.
I vote for more speed cameras.

I walk down this road everyday to work and back. It is simple not save. Today I had a incident with a driver eding in towards me on a zebra crossing! Most days I have to be really carefull as hardly any drivers stop at the zebra crossing by McDonalds. Please can more be done to improve the safety of this road.
