The city actually listened and stopped the rezoning move for the Prevedel lot so I guess we really did it. I am honestly still in shock because it feels like just yesterday I was ranting about this on the porch but we need to keep paying attention to the council …
We, the undersigned residents of West Haven, Utah oppose the rezoning of the Henry Prevedel property until such time as the Mixed Use Zoning ordinance is revised and approved.
I am honestly stunned that this picked up this much speed because it really felt like I was shouting into a void just a little while ago. Seeing people actually care about how the zoning ordinance gets handled makes me feel way less crazy for worrying about the Prevedel property constantly.

I honestly figured maybe five people would care about the rezoning so watching the count hit one hundred feels wild. It really makes me think the neighbors are just as worried as I am about what happens to the Prevedel property and that constant noise from the main road.

The only people that will benefit from this, at all, are the people making the money from it. It will destroy the neighborhood (and surrounding ones, as well) and the overall quality of this beautiful part of West Haven. Not to mention the impact it will have on the school systems.

This proposed development is not well thought out. If you’re going to have a walking community, you need businesses to walk to, not just other homes.

Need to stop more dense housing. Clarify what is Mixed Use so we have a plan for future development to stop the runaway development.

Stop this madness. When the city was developed it was 1 acre lots, country living, with a required amount of smaller lots in designated areas. Now country living is the minority. Our street 2200 used to be quiet now is a race way. I can’t imagine what 1800 will be.

I approve of this petition. The current mixed-use ordinance needs a more clear and legal definition. Rezoning of the Prevedel property would be in violation of the best practices described by the land=use lawyer who spoke to the City Council last evening. The Ivory Homes proposal would put too many homes on too little land.

I have developed land in West Haven and I have no problem with Ivory trying to make money as that is why they are in business. However this is too much density and there are additional avenues that can be pursued to strike a better balance.

Every land owner has a right to do what they want, but the problem is the city/planning commission changing the zoning to accommodate big developers. Land owners don't care what is done to their land- its the $$ check at the end for their investment they care about. The city keeps changing things to allow high density housing and mass development. At this rate in a few years you can just call us West Ogden.

These overcrowded subdivisions are destroying this community.
