We, the undersigned owners of property surrounding the proposed project, oppose the requested zoning change from the existing Rural Residential (RUR: RR) to Community Development: Medium Density Residential (CD: MHDR), Community Development: Medium High-Density Residential (CD: HDR), and Community Development: Mixed use Area (CD: MUA). We believe this Project proposal is totally out of place for our rural agricultural / farming community. It would negatively compromise our rural lifestyle, which is why we decided to live in this area. Traffic is already a problem during the busier hours of the day. The main roads for ingress and egress to this proposal are Mesa Rd. and Sage Rd.- both single lanes each way with a little room for improvement. Retail businesses would create further congestion. A project such as this should be closer to existing retail and not in a rural area. We believe if the property owner wants to develop this property, he should do so under the current zoning that the property has, which is appropriate for this area.

We have reached one thousand signatures regarding the rezoning of Mesa and Sage Road. I have drafted a formal letter to the planning department detailing our opposition to the amendment. I will be meeting with the county supervisor next week to present these signatures and review our concerns.

Water is in short supply and we are in a high fire area. Our insurer Allstate and all other insurance agencies WILL NOT cover this area. We are all forced to be with CA Fair Plan with EXTREME high rates that are 300% + higher than 2023 rates.
This will also be a drain on our natural resources too! Additionally the majority of us are on water and depend on our aquifer, god forbid a gas station has a leaking tank, what then thousands without water for people and livestock.
As a resident of Sage I am opposed to this development, which is not appropriate for this rural area. The recent fires in Los Angeles and the Fairview fire two and a half years ago are a reminder that it’s not a good idea to bring residential areas into woodlands.
This will horribly impact the rural wine country. Such dense housing will add light pollution for The Palomar Observatory. The roads and water cannot handle that many more people. We all worked hard 20 years ago to set up a community plan to maintain our desired lifestyles.
I am a horse owner living in Temecula Wine Country on property. We do NOT need high density housing in our community. This area is a haven for horses, grapes and those of us who want to live in the countryside. Keep residential high density housing toward our city centers!

As a Sage resident, I oppose this development. Yet another project that stands to erase the agricultural roots of the area and upend the very reason many of us, even those closer to town, moved here for. Indeed, many of us still work the land for a living. Quick reminder, Hemet is adding 28,000 tract homes. And where are the jobs?? Because they're not here! Put residents first, not developers!

We are against this rezoning, we have lived on Mesa Road for over 20 years. We are part of the equestrian community here in this valley. If this passes you will be destroying this life style. The zoning established here was the reason we relocated here.
