Petition in opposition to zoning change for Firetree South subdivision
We, the undersigned, are opposed to the proposed zoning change for the “Firetree South” subdivision from R1-B (Single Family Residential) to PUD (Planned Unit Development) for the 9.41-Acre tract of land in the Southeast Quarter (SE l /4) of Section 33, Township 14 South, Range 20 East in the City of Baldwin City, Douglas County, Kansas. We urge the City Council to accept the Planning Commission’s recommendation to deny the proposed zoning change.

We believe this proposed development will affect our property values...and possibly higher taxes, which we do no want!
We own our home on Blaze Blvd. I feel a lot of headaches in our future if this is passed. Headaches that all of us do not need.
I don't know why we have to keep revisiting the issue. The City of Baldwin knows exactly how we feel about the issue. Same game, different day.
We were promised single-family homes when we all purchased and made the investment in our homes and the community. While the current proposed PUD says 55 and older, when the need is no longer needed it will change and that is not what we were promised. It will affect our property values and resale values.
I am against this development. I live and own a home of Flame way in the Fire Tree neighborhood in Baldwin city, ks.
I am opposed to the low income housing.
I’m not comfortable with low income housing less than a block from my residence as I know it will lower the value of my home.

Bad idea all around....traffic, property values among a lot of other issues. In the circle of Blaze, Flame and Firetree alone, there are approximately 40 (give or take) homes. This project would add 14 duplexes or 28 more homes !!
