While we understand that school administrators have a duty and a discretion to act independently, we urge you to consider the voice of the undersigned Sea Cliff parents and to offer Mrs. Melissa Dowd the opportunity to return to the Sea Cliff school in the fall. Mrs. Dowd has been a wonderful teacher to our children, and we firmly believe that future Sea Cliff School students will benefit from this dedicated and compassionate educator.

Just wanted to add that my daughter had a wonderful experience with Mrs. Dowd this year. Violet is extremely introverted and I specifically requested a teacher who wouldn't see it as a negative attribute. Mrs. Dowd was patient and understanding and before we knew it I was receiving emails stating that Violet was raising her hand. A huge win for all of us! All children are different and I feel Mrs. Dowd is able to embrace that and bring out the best in each one of them. We are grateful for our time with her.
I find Mrs Dowd to be an honest, dedicated and passionate professional who has nothing but the best interests of our children at heart.
Mrs. Dowd has helped Bailey open up and grow with a level of commitment and thoughtfulness that's exemplary. We feel Bailey has made great strides because of her.
We are new to the district and have been so grateful to have had Ms.Dowd be Cristian's first contact in the school. She has helped make this transition smooth and as stress free as possible for him. He looks forward to going to school everyday, and is thriving because of Ms. Dowd. I have seen her work the children in class, and always leave impressed with her skills and honored that we are so lucky to have her teach our son. When I heard the news that she will not be returning I was shocked and truly saddened. It is disappointing that the Sea Cliff School can let such a great asset go.
Ms. Dowd is a wonderful teacher. I couldn't be more happy to have her as Noah's teacher and I hope she stays so that future children and their parents can experience the joy that she brings to the classroom.
I am a grandparent of one of Mrs. Dowd's students and a retired teacher with over 32 years experience . I think Mrs. Dowd is truly an asset to Sea Cliff Elementary as well as an asset to her students. My grandson loves her and has learned volumes from her this year. It would be a shame for the uprising students to miss out on the experience of being in her amazing classroom.
Mrs. Dowd has been an excellent addition to the NS District and a wonderful fit for Sea Cliff. With her professionalism, competence and experience our son has thrived tremendously in her class. It will be a huge loss for the school and community. Please reconsider your decision to terminate her.

Having been a teacher for 15 years, I am truly impressed with Mrs. Dowd's professionalism, compassion, demeanor and genuine engagement with the children. She provided a caring environment with positive reinforcement, which my daughter, Ava responded well to. I feel Mrs. Dowd fostered a safe, fun, and caring culture which enabled Ava to grow emotionally, physically and intellectually. For this we are truly grateful. We see Mrs. Dowd as an extremely positive asset that embodies not only Sea Cliff School but the community as well.
