Having been a teacher for 15 years, I am truly impressed with Mrs. Dowd's professionalism, compassion, demeanor and genuine engagement with the children. She provided a caring environment with positive reinforcement, which my daughter, Ava responded well to. I feel Mrs. Dowd fostered a safe, fun, and caring culture which enabled Ava to grow emotionally, physically and intellectually. For this we are truly grateful. We see Mrs. Dowd as an extremely positive asset that embodies not only Sea Cliff School but the community as well.

Just wanted to add that my daughter had a wonderful experience with Mrs. Dowd this year. Violet is extremely introverted and I specifically requested a teacher who wouldn't see it as a negative attribute. Mrs. Dowd was patient and understanding and before we knew it I was receiving emails stating that Violet was raising her hand. A huge win for all of us! All children are different and I feel Mrs. Dowd is able to embrace that and bring out the best in each one of them. We are grateful for our time with her.

We are new to the district and have been so grateful to have had Ms.Dowd be Cristian's first contact in the school. She has helped make this transition smooth and as stress free as possible for him. He looks forward to going to school everyday, and is thriving because of Ms. Dowd. I have seen her work the children in class, and always leave impressed with her skills and honored that we are so lucky to have her teach our son. When I heard the news that she will not be returning I was shocked and truly saddened. It is disappointing that the Sea Cliff School can let such a great asset go.

I am a grandparent of one of Mrs. Dowd's students and a retired teacher with over 32 years experience . I think Mrs. Dowd is truly an asset to Sea Cliff Elementary as well as an asset to her students. My grandson loves her and has learned volumes from her this year. It would be a shame for the uprising students to miss out on the experience of being in her amazing classroom.

Ms. Dowd is an amazing teacher and a true asset to Sea Cliff Elementary. She has been extremely intuitive with Cody, and has helped him grow academically and socially.
Additionally, in our meetings with her, she is extremely professional, pragmatic yet warm. With our two boys, we have had many teachers at SC Elementary and she is one of the best. We recommend you keep her as she will only enhance the education of all children attending the school.

Mrs. Dowd has been my favorite teacher so far at Sea Cliff Elementary. My son Bronson has thrived in her nurturing and dynamic class room. All year we have been sharing our love of Mrs. Dowd with any parents who would listen and are deeply saddened by the recent decisions that have been made by Dr.Z and school administrators. Mrs. Dowd is a huge asset to our school and I beg you to reconsider your decision to terminate her employment.

Mrs. Dowd has created a supportive and nurturing learning environment. My daughter Charlotte has thrived academically and matured emotionally as a result of Mrs. Dowd's efforts. She is a wonderful teacher and addition to Sea Cliff School and we are very upset by the decision not to retain her.

As I have mentioned to Dr Z. and Dr. Melnick, I am very disappointed in the decision not to retain Mrs. Dowd. My son John has made great strides this year, both academically and socially, that I largely attribute to Mrs. Dowd. Sea Cliff should do whatever it can to keep teachers like her!
