Dear Ms. Montesano,
Mrs. Lisa Maketansky should be allowed to stay at Haworth Public School and see her students graduate. She has given her heart and soul teaching and mentoring our children, and has been instrumental in our childrens' lives. Not having Mrs. Mak there with her students would be an absolute travesty and injustice!!
We implore you to overturn your decision. If not for us, please consider the impact this will have on the children in what should be a happy day of celebration with their peers and highly regarded teachers...most notably, Mrs. Maketansky.

Commencement is not only about transitioning to the new, it is most certainly about celebrating the past. Mrs. Mak will forever be a part of the Class of 2016's collective memory. Please model to our children that rituals superceed disagreements and arbitration. This day is about them.
Mrs. Mak has had a tremendous impact on both my children as well as my husband and me. I hope whatever disagreements that have occureded, they can be set aside for 2 more days. Think of the example you are setting for the children. Is this how you want them to remember HPS? Kindly reconsider.
My son Daniel is soo sad I think all kids are angry shame

I am so grateful for Mrs. Mak for being such an inspiration to Adel. She has instilled in him love and passion for writing. The graduation ceremony without her presence will be incomplete.
Mrs Mak must be at the graduation!

Mrs Mak inspired my son to read more than the sports pages! And now he loves reading and writting! She is inspirational, passionate and a teacher who really CARES. She deserves dignity and respect.
